Okay, the fun part and the most dreadful part of being a flight attendant is flying with so many women. You check in for your flight and you get to meet who you’re working with for the next 2-4 days. Getting an awesome crew can be the most fun in the world or it could turn into your hell on a plane! But one thing I must say no matter how crazy or psychotic a flight attendant may seem, we can always connect on one topic…dating!
I sit on the jumpseat waiting for that infamous question, “so who ya’ seeing”, “you married”, and for the bold one’s “sexing anyone” lol. But gotta love the flight attendants that like to play matchmaker when they find out you’re single. I just flew with a young lady recently, and lucky me I’ve flown with her before and absolutely adore her. I actually like talking to her about my dating excursions. But, this time around she decided that she wanted me to meet a friend of her husband. I’m really not into the blind date thing, it seems with my history that blind dates just don’t seem to work out for me. I’ll never forget in college when my bestfriend’s boyfriend, set me up with one of his buddies. I remember it like yesterday; we went out for dinner and came back to his place and dude gave me a striptease that I’ll never forget. How about stripped down to his leopard print underwear and was crawling around in the floor biting at my leg. Seriously guys I can’t make this stuff up! So you have to understand why I’d be a little sensitive to the whole blind date scene. But, I bit the bullet and allowed my f/a girl to hand my number off to her husband’s friend. She was so excited, matchmaker’s always get exited when they feel a love connection coming on. She me told me I should be expecting his phone call…
Okay…here it is guys. Shame on me! I received a phone call from the guy a few days ago. I listened to his voicemail and I feel so guilty and shallow for sharing this…but I was completely turned off by his voice. It was so high pitched and reminded me of the voice that a guy may have in his freshman year of high school right before he gets that base in his voice. It’s ironic, most guys like to text especially with a new girl. This guy was actually man enough to call and leave a message and what do I do…let his call sit right along with the other missed calls. I have to say, I’m sitting here shaking my head at myself. I actually sound pretty ridiculous and like a high schooler myself. But I just can’t seem to pick up the phone and call the guy back. So many days have passed, it’s probably out of sight out of mind for him. He probably will be confused as to who I am at this point. So I’m wondering, have you ever turned someone down that you’ve never met for some reason??? As always thanks for reading!
